Background
The Coca Cola Company (TCCC) must ensure the protection of what is arguably the world’s most recognizable brand. A critical component of TCCC’s brand protection strategy is developing and maintaining an effective Incident Management and Crisis Response (IMCR) program throughout the company and its bottlers (collectively known as TCCC Business System). The Challenge
What are perceived as mostly likely incidents and most dangerous crises vary
dramatically across the TCCC Business System. Extortion may be the prevalent risk in one region, with water purity and product integrity in another. TCCC had to develop and implement a generic IMCR training program relevant to all 26 business divisions worldwide, each facing varying and often unique risks to the brand. Inocon Solution
The Inocon Group, as part of TCCC’s IMCR faculty, developed and delivered a
number of tailored scenario based training activities specifically designed to assist participants overcome experience, cultural and professional differences that could detract from learning. These activities reinforced the teaching of complex IMCR concepts and tools across a broad spectrum of potential incidents and crises. Inocon has been involved from the inception of TCCC’s worldwide IMCR program and continues to provide readiness solutions to TCCC such as our ReadySim scenario-based simulation to assist TCCC’s Winter Olympic Program validate its operations prior to the Games. Results
Inocon’s tailored training, rehearsal and readiness solutions have contributed
significantly to improving awareness and practice of IMCR capabilities across the TCCC Business System. This contributes significantly to the protection of not only TCCC’s expansive tangible assets, but also the intangible and most valuable asset - TCCC’s name.
