Inocon Group Managing Director Addresses International
Air Transport Association
Lisbon, Portugal
Mark Watson, Managing Director for The Inocon Group – a global
leader in crisis management planning and risk mitigation – addressed
the attendees of IATA Fuel Forum held in Lisbon from 9-11 May. Mr. Watson,
who on behalf of The Inocon Group, a company which he co-founded in 2000,
was asked to speak on the topic of risks to the global supply of jet
fuel, and possible recommended actions to prevent a supply crisis.
The IATA Fuel Team has become aware of the increase in incidence of
disruption to the supply of aviation fuel world-wide. These supply disruptions
may be increasing due to a number of factors including geo-political
tensions, aging production infrastructure, and the increased costs associated
with extracting and refining oil.
In order to address these issues, IATA has contracted The Inocon Group
to assist the association in meeting the considerable challenge of developing
industry-wide crisis management guidance that is specifically focused
on the risk of disruptions in the global supply of jet fuel.
Inocon has provided elements of it’s proven ReadyPlan™ incident
and crisis management process to help IATA develop a plan that ensures
the guidance is meaningful to the many, varied, and often complex fuel
supply arrangements that exist around the world.
Mr. Lasantha Subasinghe, IATA Fuel Team Assistant Director commented “Inocon
has reviewed our crisis management guidance, and deemed it to be ‘world
best practice’”.
