The Inocon Group provides Melbourne Commonwealth Games with Readiness Exercises as final tune-up.

Melbourne, Australia
The Inocon Group has followed up their recent delivery of a strategic readiness exercise for the 2006 Olympic Games in Torino with another successful organizing committee project. On February 17 and 18 2006, Inocon conducted a ReadySim™ simulation exercise for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Inocon’s ReadySim™ product is a scenario-based, real-time simulation designed to provide the Games Organizing Committee an opportunity to practice both normal and crisis operations in a risk-free environment. Focused on management-level decision making and games-wide communications, ReadySim served as the final operations tune-up leading into the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Inocon Serves Commonwealth Games for Second Time
For the second time in four years, Inocon was selected by a Commonwealth Games organizing committee to lead a games readiness program.

“ReadySim allows our clients to validate their planning through practice” said Mark Watson, Inocon’s Managing Partner, and leader of the M2006 project. “Because it gives the organization a chance to rehearse normal and crisis management operations in a risk-free environment, the simulation is the best tool for identifying any issues that need to be addressed.” Clare Mardell, M2006 Manager of Games Readiness agreed: “The passion, knowledge and experience you and the Inocon team brought into the Games Readiness Team and Organizing Committee were second to none. There is no doubt that your hard work and commitment played and important role in assisting M2006 deliver a very successful Games.” Mardell said in describing Inocon’s contribution.

During a typical ReadySim™ simulation, Organizing Committee staff and key partners like international sport associations, local and national government, and law-enforcement agencies participate in the exercise. Simulation participants are asked to go about their jobs, and conduct normal operations in real-time, including command center operations, executive and committee meetings, press briefings, and staff communication and interaction.

Final Step in Readiness Program
The two-day exercise was the final step in a program of readiness activities provided by Inocon. During January and February, The Inocon Group conducted seventeen similar exercises for M2006 that focused on functional area and venue-level operational readiness.
